Molding and properties of molded foamed silicone rings

Molded foam silicone ring is a common sealing material, its shrinkage rate is affected by many factors, such as mold cavity, vulcanization process, product shape and so on. The shrinkage rate of foamed silicone rings fluctuates in a large range, so it needs to be carefully considered when designing molds. At present, there is no perfect calculation formula to predict the shrinkage rate, and the actual measurement data can only be used as a reference. In addition, the extrusion process is one of the main methods for the production of silicone seals, which has the advantages of simple production and adjustable size, but the sealing and tensile properties are slightly inferior to the molded sealing ring.
